Garage Sale season is almost here! Yay! My mom and I are getting ready to have a huge one right after Easter.

Anybody else gearing up to hit those sales? Have anything in particular you're looking to sell?

I live in a gated community so it is hard to have a garage sale here unless it is the semi-annual garage sale that the community does.

I love community sales, though. It's great when you can park the car and walk to several houses instead of drive and park, drive and park.

Do you usually participate in your neighborhood sale? Does it do well?

I love garage/ yard sales. I started having my own 2 years ago. We just had too much stuff and with 2 small children - you can always find something that has been lying around that does not get used anymore. As for going to garage sales, I LOVE them!

It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate in a year. It seems like I can always find a boatload of stuff to sell.

We're having a huge one at my mom's in a couple weeks and already I've got like three huge boxes filled, plus hanging clothes. Hope it brings me some major cash! Very Happy

You've never had a garage sale, Lisa? I've had so many, I've lost count.

Check your local paper and Craig's List to see when the most popular garage sale day is in your area. Then, just price everything with stickers and organize neatly on tables in your garage (organized tables are much easier to shop! Smile

)

You can advertise in your local newspaper and on Craig's List. I also buy neon green, pink or orange posterboard to make into signs to put up at the end of nearby streets. Drivers can see those neon signs from a mile away. Smile

Garage sakes are a lot of work but usually are well worth it. Plus, getting rid of all the junk is a bonus!

I started working on cleaning out my garage and made a major dent yesterday but still have a ways to go. All the clothes that we don't want we donated to the mission that our church is involved with. Now I am getting stuff together for a yard sale. Our community is having their community yard sale the first saturday of June. That is the only time that I can have one at my house. We live in a gated community. If I don't do it that Saturday will have to see about doing it at a friends house.
